There are quite a few articles out there discussing Papervision3D and sharing source code, etc. but very few explain in plain English how to actually get started with PV3D. For those of us that aren’t geeky enough to guess our way into getting it to work we are usually left in a dust of confusion. Papervision3D, if you aren’t familiar with it, is a way to do 3D inside Flash - it’s extensive, cutting edge and very well laid out. More and more sites are popping up on the web utilizing this technology… so what are you waiting for?

Ever since Flex 3 and AIR 1.0 came out the community surrounding these technologies has grown tremendously! It’s both exciting and astonishing how so many people have come together to share a common interest. You don’t have to look very far to realize just how big the community has grown. A few clicks from a search engine will lead you to an entire interconnected network of passionate and enthusiastic designers and developers that want to spread the word of Adobe Flex, Air and Flash!

Being such a huge supporter of Flex and being someone that wants to do graphical programming I find it quite embarrassing that my skills in Programming (at the time that I’m writing this article) is seriously lacking. Somehow I feel that I’m not the only one struggling with Object Oriented Programming that comes from a design background.

One of the reasons I’ve been supporting the movement towards Flash website development is because of how much less I have to worry about my websites running the same on each browser. That however doesn’t mean I can just throw conventional web development methods aside and think everything is fine. IE6 and its predecessors is a serious problem on the web.

There is a pretty great site up called 30onair.com
You get to ask the question “Why AIR?”, “Why Flex?”, “Why Flash?” “Why Coldfusion?” “Why Actionscript?” etc… Simply upload to youtube and use the tag “30onair”. I think its a great oppurtunity to hear what everyday people have to say about these really awesome technologies.

Introduction
So, you’ve probably heard quite a few people talk about this thing called “Flex” and want to know more.. or you are yet to be convinced that creating layouts with the Flash Engine is as easy and readable as in HTML.
